Melissa Ann (Hopely) Rice is a well-accomplished international motivational speaker, mental health, anti-bullying and suicide prevention advocate and author to The People You Meet in Real. She will be at Spring City Free Library on October 10th at 6:30 Pm to share her message of hope. She will be discussing her personal story of mental health recovery and also the inspiring stories of people she has met in her life. Melissa served on the board of the Philadelphia chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) from 2010-2016. She has appeared on several radio and television programs including 99.5 WJBR , Q102, the CW Philly’s Speak Up and a NBC10 special called Beyond Bullying. Her story was just featured in the new Worth Publishers and Scientific American textbook publication, “Psychology.” Melissa has been recognized for her advocacy work with
numerous awards including the honorable mention Jerry Greenspan Student Voice of Mental Health Award given by the Jed Foundation of America at a gala in June 2009 in New York City.
